This programmable VCU (Vehicle Control Unit) provides customisable torque management for electric vehicles with up to four motors making it the perfect tuning tool for Motorsport or high performance road use. As well as motor control the VCU can communicate with three independent CAN Bus networks and is compatible with direct and in-direct drive EV set ups.
- Provides independent torque control for up to 4 EV motors
- Integrates EV systems unifying the vehicles tuning potential
- Input characterisation including throttle pedal, brake switch, PRND switches and other driver / vehicle inputs
- Provides startup and shutdown sequencing of high voltage components including independent contractor control
- CAN communication with battery management systems, Inverters PDU's and other CAN accessories
- Controls accessories such as cooling pumps, fans, light and more when used with AEM PDU-8
- Direct drive and in-direct drive EV compatible
Inputs: 13 x analogue, 15 x digital, 4 x frequency
Outputs: 12 x Low side drivers, 6 x high side drivers, 4 x half bridges with shunt resistors to provide - 4 x low side drivers (PWM) or 4 x high side drivers.
The AEM VCU can be used in conjunction with the AEM PDU-8 power distribution unit to control up to 16 electrical circuits such as cooling pumps, fans, lights and much more. By adding the AEM CAN keypad you benefit from driver control of motor power, drive activation and map switching.
The AEM VCU is housed in a tough aluminium case which is sealed to IP6K7 making it suitable for withstanding the rigors of a Motorsport environment whilst remaining reliable. For a full list of the VCU features see the 'Specifications' tab.
