The fuel pump hangar / surge tanks from Radium Engineering are ideal for tuned vehicles which are used on track days or for Motorsport use. The surge tank eliminates the risk of fuel starvation due to fuel slosh under high cornering G forces and the fuel pump hangar has the provision to install 1 or 2 high flow aftermarket fuel pumps. The kits fits in the OEM tank on the opposite side to the original fuel pump and it retains the OEM pump as a feed pump for the surge tank.
- Prevents damaging fuel starvation due to fuel slosh under high lateral G force
- Allows 1 or 2 high flow aftermarket fuel pumps to be installed
- Fits to the OEM fuel tank and retains the OEM fuel pump as a feed pump for the surge tank. No permanent modifications required to install.
- Integral fuel pressure regulator
- Ideal fuel delivery solution for track day cars or competition cars using the OEM fuel tank
The fuel pump hanger / surge tank prevents fuel starvation by ensuring there is a constant volume of fuel in the tank separate to the main fuel tank. The surge tank is fed fuel by the OEM fuel pump via a one way valve which keeps the tank full and provides a constant supply of fuel to the fuel pump(s) (not included). Excess fuel is drained back into the main fuel tank. The fuel pressure regulator return also feeds back into the surge tank so there is no chance of the engine being starved of fuel.. unless you run out of fuel.! A diverter valve inside the tank disperses the fuel preventing air bubbles and foaming so the pump(s) can operate at maximum capacity.
The integral fuel pressure regulator features a pressure port for an intake manifold boost reference. With a boost reference the FPR can operate at a 1:1 ratio allowing fuel pressure to increase proportionally with boost pressure. The kit is supplied with 2 different size FPR return orifices which allow for fine tuning the pressure to the pump flow rate.
