Mishimoto are new to our site and we’re very excited to have them.
Coming from the states and offering a range of aftermarket cooling products they bring some serious engineering know-how and a very JDM-centric application list. As enthusiasts themselves, they know what drivers at all levels need from fast-road to competition need from products.
Major suppliers to teams competing in Formula D they know all about heat management and hot engine bays.
These air intakes are no exception. Utilising a large oiled cotton cone filter and carefully engineered hard-pipes, these kits are designed to get more air into the engine, faster.
Replacing the stock paper filter and air box with a much larger cotton filter considerably increases the potential airflow. Cotton is a much less restrictive filter material. Oiled cotton is used because the oil helps it capture dust and moisture.
The mandrel bent aluminium pipework helps keep system velocity up ensuring torque right through the rev range.
Where supplied, the air box helps insulated the intake from the heat of the engine bay and avoid heat soak.
Intakes labelled as “Race” will adjust Air-Fuel ratios and should not be used with the stock map.
Intakes labelled as “Cold Air” place the air filter outside of the hot engine bay.
Intakes labelled as “No Airbox” do not come with the air box. There may be an alternate version available with. These will be labelled “With Airbox”.
