Mishimoto's Transmission Coolers provide additional cooling for automatic gearboxes. By keeping gear oil or ATF temperatures low, you reduce wear and avoid damage to your transmission.
- Maintains lower ATF or Gear Oil temperatures
- Reduce transmission wear
- Designed to minimize pressure drop and maximise flow-through
- Larger core volume over OE cooler
- Increased external fin surface area
As you use your automatic or dual-clutch transmission, the fluid or oil in it will heat up. While your car will probably have come from the factory with some sort of cooling system for the transmission, this will generally only have been designed for normal road driving.
Once you're driving on the track or pushing the car hard on the road, however, you can find the limits of this factory cooling system and temperatures inside your transmission can start to go up. This can cause quicker wear on wet clutches and shift mechanisms, and even transmission damage, although most cars will warn you before this happens.
The solution is to fit a Mishimoto Transmission Cooler. By either replacing or expanding upon the factory cooling system with a much bigger, more efficient core you can achieve much more stable cooling and lower temperatures.
With all their experience in the world of drift, Mishimoto really knows how to build solid cooling systems and their transmission coolers are no exception. Utilising high quality 6061 aluminium, computer designed cooling cores, and innovative internal fin or dual-pass designs Mishimoto are able to get much more efficient cooling out of their cores.
They also carefully size up the cooler as far as possible in the available space. A bigger, more efficient cooler, keeps fluid/oil temperatures lower and more stable, which in turn keeps clutches and other components cooler.
